Julien Filion has been racing mountain bikes for almost 15 years. The 2009 Quebec champ in his category and a regular on the podium in Canada Cup, Julien has been a top rider for years, not only at the national level but also internationally in Europe and in America. During the 2010 season, however, his progress to the top was hampered by injuries. In 2011, Julien wants to be back among the sport’s best national riders.
The rider from St-Félicien is completing a bachelor degree in physical education at the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi. Calm in nature, he likes spending time at the family lodge to relax. He has been privileged to grow up a few kilometers away from the Tobo-Ski club, a well-known mountain bike spot in Canada.
For Julien, the winter season is synonymous with the word “training”, and usually leads to travel and do road stage races in different countries including Costa Rica, New Zealand, the Dominican Republic and the United States. Although he likes discovering foreign cultures, he is also comfortable being back home and spending some time with his family. “Dju”, as he likes to be called, is an incredible example of the meaning of the word determination.
