At the age of 20, Rebecca is already in her 4th season with Devinci and in her third year in the Elite senior category. Rebecca never passes up a challenge, but her will to win is what helps her persevere in mountain biking. Even though she’s had modest beginnings, she always sticks with it and with the help of her coach Jude Dufour, she has gained recognition over the years. In her first season with the elite racers, her patience and perseverance allowed her to take part in four sections of the World Cup and in the Canada Games in PEI where she had a strong showing. Due to back problems, she went through tough times in the 2010 season, but she still managed to finish 3rd in the Canadian championship and also participated in the U23 World Championships. This summer, she is determined to get even better results.
With organization and dedication, she has made many sacrifices in order to graduate with a degree in Science from the Alma CEGEP in two years while training with the mountain bike. Next fall, she will be attending the École polytechnique de Montréal in Mechanical Engineering while continuing to train.
